A shadow of calculated and raw violence shook Colombia this week. More than 30 attacks have occurred so far in Junio, a terrorist escalation that the authorities of the national and territorial order did not see coming and whose magnitude seems to have overwhelmed institutional capacities.
In an increasingly sensitive and polarized context, time was able to confirm with military intelligence sources that the attacks that occurred mainly in Cauca and Valle del Cauca, on Junio 10, had already been warned to the National Police days before.

«There was precise information on possible high -impact actions in the Southwest. Attacks in the Southwest
Five days after the explosion that caused terror between inhabitants, pedestrians and drivers in a street in the Meléndez neighborhood, in Cali, Juan Pablo Llanos looked sadly at the area where the police station is also, next to which a bomb motorcycle was detonated on Junio 10. It is a sector of a working community in the south of the Valle del Cauca capital, of stratum 3, with stores, food sales, supermarkets, arrangements of technological equipment, five schools and homes.

Cauca was also whipped by attacks with explosives and harassment, between 8 and 8:30 in the morning of that fateful Martes. The balance was eight dead, including two police patrolmen, and more than 70 injured in 24 terrorist attacks that were perpetrated in minutes. The attacks only of that day at Cauca occurred in Corinth, Caloto, Toribío, Patía, Santander de Quilichao, El Bordo, Villa Rica, Morales, Timbiquí and Buenos Aires. Like beards, most fatal and injured victims were citizens outside the war declared by FARC dissidents under the command of ‘Iván Bite’ against the public force.
In the Valle del Cauca, in Jamundí, concentrated in the upper area of the rural area, as well as in Dagua, Buenaventura and in the East of Cali, are the dissidents of the ‘Jaime Martínez’ front, responsible for the three attacks in the capital of the Valley, as well as in Jamundí and Palmira.

In Cali, according to police and army intelligence sources, this structure has been strengthened. Why did these violent acts carry out? In Junio 2022, Alias Mayoimbú died, identified as Léider Yohani Noscué Bototo, which ordered illegal actions in Valle, Cauca and Nariño, the same departments that in three days have lived attacks and harassment to police uniformed, as well as military and even river battalions of the Navy in the Pacific coast.
‘Mayoimbú’ died in Suárez, in the north of Cauca, in an army operation that was planned for months in the Government of Iván Duque with members of intelligence of the public force. Three years later, according to police sources and the third division of the Army, the dissidents of the ‘Jaime Martínez’ front planned the latter attacks so meticulously not only for the anniversary of the death of ‘Mayoimbú’, but to seek to destabilize the institutions of the State and their military and police forces.

Not only in the southwest
In Chocó they have appeared in the last year, at least 10 armed strikes, according to the Government. The reason: the conflict between the ELN and the ‘Gulf clan’, which have strong territorial control in this region. To put the panorama in perspective, the departmental administration maintains that, if figures of this last year are added, only in the average and low subregion of the San Juan exceed the figures of the Catatumbo both in confined and in displaced and disappeared.

New wave of displacements in the Catatumbo
